With over 15 years experience of composite production and materials knowledge we are able to offer a consultancy service to prospective clients. We offer what we call a CAD to component service, taking a product from the initial design phase to final component production. What ever stage you are at in your products development, we are able to offer a tailored solution to help you progress to the next stage. 

For those customers looking to replicate or upgrade an existing part we can offer a 3D scanning service allowing us to capture the physical part as a CAD model down to a surface accuracy of 0.05mm.

As part of our partnership we have full access to 5 axis CNC machining equipment. We can offer machining in aluminium, tooling board and carbon fibre. 

A large part of our CAD to component service is the design and implementation of a custom tooling solution for the part and we will always strive to achieve the most efficient and cost effective production method, whether it be for a single component or multi part production run.

We believe that Carbon fibre is the ultimate building material, being light weight, strong and as visually complex as it is beautiful. This makes it the perfect material for making an interior design, or architectural statement. We understand that each piece is special and requires a personal touch and that this can present a unique challenge, sometimes requiring an outside the box approach, to be able to achieve a "never been done before"  stunning show piece. 

Previous pieces include instrument cases, Basins, Furniture and interior finishes.

Here at Dark Art we have our own Italmatic autoclave. This unit allows us to manufacture components in house for a faster turnaround and improved process control. 

For larger and more ambitious projects  we have access to a larger unit allowing us to cure parts up to 4 meters in length 2.5 meters wide.

We have a fully fitted Trim shop, complete with downdraft tables and HEPA Filtered extraction system. In addition to this, there is our state of the art clean room for component manufacture, temperature controlled to maintain the perfect production environment.

Custom tooling solutions are a major part of our CAD to component service allowing us to be a one stop shop for clients production runs.

Whether you are looking to replace existing tooling, reengineer an existing tool set up, or tool a new part we are fully set up to provide a custom tooling solution for your product. Many of our solutions include custom inserts to minimise trimming operations, drill bushes to provide repeatable accurate drilling and multi part moulds allowing complex pieces to be manufactured in single a component.

We are able to offer a bespoke service for clients wanting to mass produce their composite components whether it be quantities in the tens or thousands we are set up to develop a cost effective and  efficient production solution. Our experience allows us to spec the material best suited for the production of your composite parts and design a cost effective production run.
